Our Next President Clinton?

The Following is a multi-part series of articles examining the current crop of political candidates.

Let me begin this article by stating right up front that I am partisan conservative. I am not a fan of the Clinton's or liberal democrat ideology. In fact, my very partisan conservative values are diametrically opposed to those espoused by the the aforementioned democrat party.

Conservatives and the Republican candidates are salivating at the opportunity to campaign against Hillary Clinton. Throughout most of the country, Hillary Rodham Clinton has a well established credibility problem. Combine that with both past and current campaign finance irregularities, and her own ideology and, well, she is a liberal disaster in the making.

The first inkling of Mrs. Clinton's attraction to far left ideology begins with her fascination with 60's leftist activist Saul Alinsky. Something was attractive to her in Alinsky's belief in change at any cost and by any means. Perhaps this is where we begin to see the "end justifies the means" ideology begin to take hold with Mrs. Clinton.

Our next snapshot of the emergence of the future senator's ideology came during the Watergate investigations of President Nixon. According to former General Counsel and Chief of Staff of the House Judiciary Committee, Jerry Ziefman, Hillary Clinton, against the direction of the Judiciary Committee, redrafted the rules to which had been used in the prior impeachment proceedings against Supreme Court Justice Douglas. Accordingly, Mrs. Clinton then advocated that President Nixon be denied representation by counsel, a due process right guaranteed by the constitution. She also removed from public view, the files of Justice Douglas's impeachment.

Fast forward to her White House days as first lady and the Whitewater/Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan scandal. Some eerily similar things begin to happen here. Files and records related to the investigation went missing. Blatant lying to federal investigators to impede a federal investigation, blatant disregard for and character assassination of the principle investigators involved. Amazingly enough, during the House Impeachment proceedings, Mrs. Clinton completely reversed herself by not only should her husband be allowed counsel but that he should be able to use White House counsel at taxpayers expense. Here is where we begin to truly get a glimpse of a character for which Political Expediency" becomes a watchword.

At present, we are presented with a far more polished, but even more dangerous persona. Mrs. Clinton is no friend of the Republic. Most recently advocating in some of her campaign speeches, the removal of the electoral college in selecting our president. Her stated health care proposals are fr ought with the vestiges of socialized medicine originally brought to light in the infamous Hillary Care scandal. Mrs. Clinton is a staunch advocate of Abortion of Demand and at tax payer expense. She has advocated both in public and private that she would raise taxes across the board.

Last, but certainly not least, and perhaps most disturbing, are the new allegations being made of campaign finance irregularities dealing with yet more Chinese immigrants. This is all shades of Norman Hsu and the Riadi scandal. Quite frankly, we can not afford Mrs. Clinton as US President. I for one could never vote for someone whose ideology is so far left and so subject to situational ethics.

Liberty Vs. Fundamentalist Islam

Let me begin this diatribe by asking a question.

Do you, the reader, believe that we are in a battle for the American way of life? If you answered "No" or "I'm not really sure", then perhaps you need to check your premise for that decison. The very core principles that our founders endowed our nation with have been and continue to be challenged by fundamentalist fanatics in the Islamic world. Challenged by a very aggresive and violent sector of Islam that actively fights democracy across the globe.

This unique experince in government that we call America is antithetical to Islamic governmental systems or "Sharia" as outlined in the Koran. This American way of living, our liberty, Equality, Property, Freedom of Religious Beliefs, Freedom of Expression, is repugnant to many in the Islamic World. These very bedrocks of our social system are the reasons behind the calls of Immorality of radical clerics in the muslim world. In an Islamic UTOPIA there is only one God allowed, Allah. There is only one religion allowed to be practiced, Islam, with the Koran as it's codified guiding principles. There is no liberty, no freedom of expression (anyone remember the Taliban), Limited property rights, restricted and highly regulated commerce, gender inequality, need I say more?

Perhaps you are now beginning to understand that the battles raging in the Middle East are not truly for something as trivial as oil or the institution of a western style democracy. We are truly fighting for an idea, born of religious persecution, and codified in our Contitution and Bill of Rights. Sharia, or Islamic law, leaves no place for equalty, or diversity, either in Gender, or religion. America does. The Koran, has a stated instruction for all true muslims to convert either by conviction or "Force", all peoples to islam. There is no religious freedom there.

We here in this great country of America, especially these more recent generations, have taken our liberty and way of life for granted. Until 9/11, it had not been truly openly challenged since WWII. Initially, in the horror that immediately followed the attacks in New York and D.C., Most Americans at least superficially understood that we would have to form a response to these heinous acts against innocent people. Unfortunately it seems now as if, if the mainstream media is to be believed, as if that awful day is in large part pushed to the back of our minds.

We should make no mistake. There are very real, tangible reasons why those who guide and direct the fanatics within islam. have yet to spill additional blood on US soil. By engaging this enemy abroad, by taking the fight to him, capturing, killing, or forcing into hiding the leaders of these groups, and lastly by cutting of the means by which they perpetrate their crimes, Money, America has severely limited their ability to wage war on US citizens. But these organizations, states, and individual have not backed off their objective of America's destruction. The only true victory in the conflict with these extremists comes when they are no longer able to commit their acts of terror on innocent peoples accross the globe. American resolve to strive towards this end, is all that stands between us and more innocent death and destruction.

Weight Loss, Workouts...and the Perfect Ride

Hello all... The weight loss is progressing slowly. I am currently down three pounds from when I started using an endurance athletes diet and lots of exercise. I still have a long way to go.

Todays workout was awesome and left me feeling refreshed, and invigorated though tired. A 30 Minute cardio workout on the treadmill running just shy of three miles was rough but good..I only gave up smoking about three weeks ago but I can already feel the improvement in my lungs and my breathing. It was a Shoulders, Triceps, Trapezius day with Ab work thrown in as every day. I feel myself getting stronger.

Tomorrow is a pool day (I hope). I need to swim at least 200 M. I have not been swimming in a lap swim in over 5 years so this should be interesting.

The Perfect Ride...I read stories about it all the time...this road is the perfect ride, that trail is the perfect ride...for me it's not about the road or the trail or the location...It's about the ride itself. I ride because I love to be out on the road. I ride because if I ride long enough that day, just perhaps, I will find that magic place where everything stands still. Some professional athletes call it the Zone. Some religions call it Harmony. Whatever you want to call it, it is a few moments of sheer perfection. It is what separates that ride from any other. It is the state of being weightless, sightless, deaf...as if you are not even of this world. When I am in that little slice of perfection, everything is glassy smooth, I don't feel the wind, or hear anything immediately around me, or see anywhere but 15 feet out in front of my wheel. It fells as if a seamless synergy has developed between my and my Klein. There is no pain, no discomfort, hell the riding does not even feel like work.

That is the perfect ride for me...something rarely achieved but striven for every time I ride. Call it what you will...when I am there....I want to just ride like that forever.

New Years Resolutions, Getting In Shape, and More

Hello all, My posts are going to change for a while. As furtherance to my New Years Resolution, and perhaps to work as extra motivation, I decided to up the ante this year and make my goal one of running a Triathlon. I have not picked a race yet, and the distances are largely unimportant to me. I gave up smoking for good this year. In addition, I have severely cut back on my consumption of caffeine and carbonated beverages.
I have begun a diet which along with my cardio, swimming and strength training program, should help me get to a target weight of around 145lbs. Now I am not Clydesdale, I am only about 5'101/2" so 145 is not as bad as it sounds. I have a cycling background so I am really trying to work on my swimming and endurance. I plan on leaving posts here for you all to chart my progress along with me.
